The Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) team is responsible for supporting the Ministry to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our kaimahi and to become a strong, resilient organisation that can respond effectively to disruptive events.  

The team is part of the Risk and Resilience Group within our Corporate Services Directorate. By combining the HSW and BCM functions into one team, we ensure that our most critical resource, our people, are at the heart of all our planning when we consider the emerging risks that we face.  

As Advisor, you will play a vital role in this busy team by being the first point of contact between Ministry kaimahi and the team.

You will be the custodian of our processes, including incident reporting, injury management and inbox management. You will be a key relationship manager with our worker representatives, including our health and safety representatives, our business continuity coordinators and our Wellbeing Rōpū. You will be the first line of resolution of issues and be supported to escalate issues when need be. 

You will also be critical to supporting proactive measures to manage the full range of our health, safety and wellbeing risks, including a dedicated programme of work to manage psychosocial risks.  

You will also be an important enabler of initiatives that build the resilience of our critical functions to support the Ministry to continue its important work during potential disruptions, and to enable a coordinated and effective response across the organisation. 

This role is band 15G with a midpoint of $79,653, appointing salary dependent on individual skills and experience.
