Expression of Interest – Senior Health and Safety Advisor - Compliance (Fixed Term / Secondment Opportunity)
The Department of Conservation (DoC) is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, or via secondment.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience at the senior advisor level
- Has regulatory compliance experience
- Understand a system view of regulation
- Can start contributing to our work programmes immediately
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment, and maintaining momentum individually
- Can analyse risk profiles of recreational activities
- Is familiar with overlapping PCBU duties and risks in a complex regulatory system
You’ll be part of the DOC Regulatory Authorisations team who are responsible for ensuring an end-to-end regulatory system that delivers good conservation outcomes, provides strong stewardship of DOC’s regulatory functions, including compliance and enforcement, and provides trusted and high-quality regulatory delivery. You’ll be working closely with diverse stakeholder groups across the organisation and externally to support and strengthen our health and safety compliance.
This opportunity is expected to commence at the end of July 2025 and this is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your HSW and regulatory experience, work with a dynamic team and play an important part in protecting Aotearoa’s natural heritage and keeping people safe on conservation land and waters.
