The Intelligence Community Shared Services support the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki and the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) | Te Pā Whakamarumaru in the achievement of individual and joint agency strategic and operational outcomes.

As Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you'll be at the forefront of developing and delivering effective health, safety and wellbeing initiatives. You'll be the go-to expert for your team and colleagues, leading projects, enhancing systems and mentoring others to strengthen our approach to HSW.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and drive continuous improvements in health, safety and wellbeing management systems.
- Provide mentorship to advisors in the team, empowering them to grow in their roles and support health and safety reps and management to increase knowledge and confidence.
- Offer expert advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Oversee key projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery and compliance.
- Help create and implement robust hazard and risk management practices.

Who we're looking for
You will ideally bring:
- 4+ years of experience working across health and safety functions, with a deep understanding of systems, risk management and reporting.
- Proven project management experience.
- A pragmatic approach to problem solving with the ability to navigate complex situations and manage multiple priorities.
- Coaching and mentoring skills with a passion for developing others.
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills with the ability to tailor your communication style to suit various audiences.
- A self-motivated professional with advanced time management, planning and organisational skills.

Before you apply

You must:
- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
- Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
- Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.

The appointment range for this position is $103,009 - $109,876.
