Scholarships

HASANZ Logo

The Health, Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ) every year offers four scholarship categories that are aimed at individuals who are currently working in health and safety, as well as those who wish to pursue a career in this field.

The four scholarship categories are:

Health & Safety – For practitioners and health and safety representatives looking to upskill to a diploma or degree. This category also supports those wanting to specialise by pursuing a bachelor’s or postgraduate qualification at a university.

Poutama – For Māori health and safety practitioners who want to advance their skills and grow their impact in the field.

Women in Safety – For female practitioners ready to move from technical roles into leadership and governance, helping shape health and safety practices across Aotearoa.

Agriculture & Horticulture – Designed to attract people to careers in agriculture and horticulture, and support specialisation through relevant qualifications. While there is a focus on the Bay of Plenty region, applications are welcome from all locations.

HASANZ has compiled a handy guide to tertiary workplace health and safety courses(external link) in New Zealand and Australia. This list is a helpful starting point, for those looking for available courses. However, applications to study other tertiary qualifications in workplace health and safety that aren’t featured on this list are also accepted. For more information or to apply, please contact: scholarships@hasanz.org.nz.
