In collaboration with MBIE, PSA, NZISM and WorkSafe, we have developed a resource outlining the key principles for developing worker participation agreements (WPAs) to support Worker Engagement, Participation and Representation (WEPR). It outlines the benefits of strong worker participation and provides guidance on the key principles for organisations to consider when developing their processes.

GHSL partnered with previous H&S Rep of the Year finalists, as well as seeking expertise from the Private Sector, PSA and WorkSafe to develop a suite of resources to support both agencies and H&S Reps to understand their role.

We know that H&S Reps play a crucial role in being the worker voice to help ensure that workplaces are safe and healthy. However, we also recognised that the role of an H&S Rep can be complex and challenging, particularly when it comes to understanding and having their role clearly defined and understood. H&S Reps, by nature, are people who are keen to help, interested in people and making things better. So we have created a resource to support both the H&S Rep and the Organisation to start a conversation on what each need from the other to start to navigate through improving safety practices for everyone.

The HASANZ team and associations often get contacted by people needing the most basic advice. Following Cyclone Gabrielle the HASANZ Member Associations decided to start a bank of easy-to-digest information sheets on a range of topics to answer the most basic questions and provide simple advice and approaches to issues. 

This resource is designed to support health and safety representatives (HSRs) in their role. It covers some of the main duties and functions of a HSR, as well as ideas and tools for engaging with the organisation.

This resource is an A4 printable version of the pocket book that was launched at the Health and Safety Representatives' Conference on 4 April 2019.
