HSR of the Year Awards 2023

The focus of the 2023 Health and Safety Representatives Conference is on mentally healthy work and the role of health and safety representatives (H&S Reps) to support and enable this within a business. The GHSL is excited to confirm the speakers for the day who are experts in the field of mentally healthy work / psychological health and safety.

Alongside our MC, Jacqui Maguire, we will hear from international thought-leaders:

Jason van Schie who is an occupational psychologist and Managing Director of Flourish Dx.

David Burroughs who is Westpac Australia’s Chief Mental Health Officer.

New Zealand psychologist and Chief Executive Dougal Sutherland of Umbrella

We'll also hear from the Chief Executive of WorkSafe New Zealand, Phil Parkes: Chief Executive for ACC Megan Main; and the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety, the Hon. Minister Michael Wood.

The day explores the role of the H&S Rep in relation to mentally healthy work, how H&S Reps can recognise psychosocial risks and the effects on workers, understand what good practice interventions look like, and how they can make a difference in their role as a H&S Rep.

We will then celebrate the fantastic mahi our H&S Reps have done in the last year across the motu by recognising the finalists for HSR of the Year and announcing the overall winner for 2023.
